Job summary

CenterPoint Energy in Houston seeks a Dispatch/Distribution Controller apprentice to load-balance service orders and coordinate field operations. The role interfaces with SAP and outage management systems and supports field technicians and contractors.

You will assist in emergency situations, communicate with customers, and help manage orders to meet service levels. A related degree or equivalent experience is preferred with training provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in computers or business preferred.
• Must pass EEI aptitude and skills test.
• Experience with Microsoft products and SCADA preferred.
• Power delivery experience in distribution, transmission or substation is a plus.
• Dispatching experience and ability to monitor multiple events simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Dispatches, creates, monitors and load-balances service orders and cases for field personnel.
• Responds to information requests from field technicians, contractors and customer service.
• Updates customer accounts with order completion and exception information.
• Coordinate access with customers and contractors in emergencies.
• Communicates with Operations management on service area performance and emergencies.
