Job summary

LONG Building Technologies is seeking an Apprentice Controls Technician to support customers by programming temperature control systems per project specs. You will assist technicians in installation, warranty, emergency and maintenance services for installed systems in the commercial HVAC field.

The role includes programming databases, calibration support, GUI delivery, and keeping as-built documentation up to date. ASP program enrollment is encouraged; travel and other duties may apply.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills for solving software and integration challenges.
• Ability to interpret mechanical plans and specifications.
• Some working knowledge of HVAC systems, control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and remain accountable.
• Strong customer service and analytical skills.
• Ability to interact with managers, engineers, sales, and technicians.
• Must be able to legally drive a company vehicle.
• Basic programming and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with programming databases for supported systems per sequences of operation.
• Help control technicians calibrate and checkout control systems.
• Assist with graphics coordination and GUI delivery for projects.
• Update drawings and maintain as-built equipment records; submit redlines.
• Enroll in and stay current in ASP Building Automation Technician Program.
• Other duties as assigned.
