Job summary

Municipality of Anchorage seeks a Senior Appraiser to perform mass-appraisal work for commercial real estate within the Finance - Property Appraisal Commercial department. Duties include developing statistical models, analyzing sales data, and leading junior staff.

The position requires multiple degrees/experience as listed, a valid Alaska driver's license, and background checks. Remote work may be considered after probation; Anchorage hiring preference applies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and seven (7) years of experience in the appraisal of real and/or personal property, with one year as a Senior Appraiser.
• Associate’s degree in Economics, Public Administration, Business Administration, Planning, or related discipline with five (5) years of experience, one year as Senior Appraiser.
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Public Administration, Business Administration, Planning, or related discipline with three (3) years of experience, one year as Senior Appraiser.
• Master’s degree in Economics, Public Administration, Business Administration, Planning, or related discipline with one (1) year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform mass-appraisal work and develop statistical models for property valuation.
• Appraise personal, residential, commercial, and industrial properties using mass appraisal technologies.
• Lead and train junior staff and oversee quality and quantity of work.
