Job summary

Anoka County is seeking a Senior Appraiser to assess commercial, industrial, and apartment properties and produce detailed valuation reports. The role includes field inspections, data analysis, and guiding property owners on assessment procedures.

This full-time, hybrid-position offers a competitive range with advancement opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package. Interviews are planned for the week of 10/19/2026.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of job-related experience.
• Possess an Income Qualified – CMA-IQ license.
• In lieu of the required education, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
• Successfully pass driver’s license background check.

Responsibilities

• Examine and evaluate property to establish a fair market value for taxation.
• Perform on-site inspections to determine condition of property.
• View and inspect all parcels of property in assigned assessment districts to determine changes from prior assessment.
• Verify property classification and land type breakdown to ensure accuracy.
• Provide information to property owners relating to assessment law, valuation procedures, homesteading and classification.
• Communicate with taxpayers concerning sensitive financial matters.
• Monitor trends of surrounding properties and real estate trends.
• Handle negotiations and preparations for tax court; testify on all areas of property assessment.
• Handle appeals for Local and County BOE.
