Job description

Join to apply for the Appointment Clerk/Medical Receptionist role at Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday with periodic Saturday hours.

Base pay range

$21.00/hr - $22.05/hr

Responsibilities
  • Perform day-to-day administrative functions and general office duties.
  • Provide information to callers, transfer calls, and ensure adequate phone coverage.
  • Greet patients and visitors, determine visit purpose, and direct accordingly.
  • Schedule patient appointments, screen for new or updated information, and inform patients of necessary documentation.
  • Adhere to safety, security, confidentiality, and privacy policies, including HIPAA compliance.
  • Maintain organized waiting areas, files, and front-desk areas.
  • Inform patients of balances and collect payments as appropriate.
  • Confirm next-day appointments and verify payment methods.
  • Handle patient complaints with diplomacy, escalate as needed.
  • Attend departmental meetings and support EHR/EPM implementation.
