Job summary

Grand Rapids Community College in Grand Rapids, MI seeks an adjunct faculty member to teach Applied Voice Lessons for the Fall 2026 semester at our downtown campus. The position involves weekly one-on-one lessons, jury prep, and performance opportunities.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Music - Vocal Performance, has successful teaching experience with adults, and is committed to student success. Prior community college teaching is preferred; diversity and accessibility are valued.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Music - Vocal Performance from an accredited institution.
• Successful applied voice teaching experience with varying vocal levels.
• Experience with diverse adult learners.
• Community college teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach applied voice lessons weekly for music majors.
• Prepare students for juries, recitals, auditions.
• Coordinate with collaborative pianist and ensemble directors.
• Maintain student records and adhere to FERPA.
