Job summary

Walters State Community College in Morristown is seeking an Adjunct Instructor of Voice to teach individual voice lessons for 1- or 2-credit courses and support introductory music offerings.

The position requires a Master’s in Music with 18 credit hours, demonstrated vocal pedagogy and performance experience, and a commitment to the community college mission. Responsibilities include syllabi, grading, scheduling juries, and participating in college activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree with a minimum of 18 credit hours in Music or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated proficiency vocal pedagogy.
• Experience with vocal performance.
• Evidence of demonstrated commitment to and understanding of the comprehensive community college philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Teach individual voice lessons for 1 credit and 2 credit sections for both majors and non-majors (not to exceed the contact hour limit per semester).
• Additional course assignments in Intro to Music or Ear Training are possible on an as needed basis and pending specific qualifications.
• Work with other music faculty in scheduling juries and auditions.
• Prepare course syllabi, course materials, evaluate student learning and maintain class records.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
