Job summary

Waterloo Elementary in Waterloo, Indiana seeks an Applied Skills Paraprofessional to support students with diverse cognitive, behavioral, emotional and medical needs. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to lift, carry, push or pull 25–50 pounds.
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods.
• Eligibility to work per citizenship/residency or work visa.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the learning activities of children with multiple cognitive, behavior, emotional and medical abilities.
• Provide clerical and instructional support for the instructional teacher.
• Assist in individual or small group instruction on individualized goals.
• Support individual student performance levels, needs and abilities.
• Assist with bus loading/unloading, lunch, toileting, and mobility needs.
• Assist with behavior management and maintain a safe classroom atmosphere.
• Collaborate with teachers and paraprofessionals in applied skills classrooms.
• Participate in CPI training and related safety protocols.
• Work full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
