Job summary

Amazon Science is seeking an Applied Scientist for Prime Video who will own the product, user experience, design, and technology to deliver state-of-the-art entertainment experiences. You will work as a hands-on ML practitioner and research lead on search, retrieval, and ranking systems.

You will collaborate with engineers and product managers, design offline and online experiments, communicate complex ideas, publish findings, and help shape the future of how customers find and watch content.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of building models for business applications.
• PhD, or Master’s degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.

Responsibilities

• Develop machine learning solutions for Prime Video Search systems, including query understanding, retrieval, and ranking, using deep learning, reinforcement learning, and optimization methods.
• Work closely with engineers and product managers to design, implement and launch machine learning solutions end-to-end.
• Design and conduct offline and online (A/B) experiments to evaluate proposed solutions based on in-depth data analyses.
• Effectively communicate technical and non-technical ideas with teammates and stakeholders.
• Stay up-to-date with advancements and the latest modeling techniques in the field.
• Publish your research findings in top conferences and journals.
