Job summary

Amazon in Seattle is seeking an Applied Scientist to own end-to-end ML solutions for Prime Video search systems. You will work with engineers and product managers to design, implement, and launch models that improve query understanding, retrieval, and ranking.

Strong emphasis on experiments, data analysis, and communicating complex ideas. Applicants should have a PhD or Masters with 4+ years in CS/CE/ML, plus programming experience in Java, C++, Python, and proficient Unix/Linux skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of building models for business applications.
• PhD or Master’s degree with 4+ years in CS/CE/ML.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python.
• Experience in algorithms, data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, HPC.

Responsibilities

• Develop machine learning solutions for Prime Video Search systems using deep learning and reinforcement learning.
• Collaborate with engineers and product managers to design, implement and launch ML solutions end-to-end.
• Design and conduct offline and online experiments to evaluate proposed solutions.
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to teammates and stakeholders.
• Stay current with modeling techniques and publish findings in top venues.
