Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking an Applied Scientist to design and implement advanced optimization and machine learning solutions for the middle mile network. You will prototype and deploy scalable models, and work with cross‑functional teams to influence decisions that improve customer delivery performance.

The role requires a PhD or MS with strong programming and statistics background, plus proven experience in research and applied ML within a fast‑paced operations environment.

Qualifications

PhD or Master’s with 4+ years in CS/CE/ML or related field.
2+ years of programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
3+ years of mathematics optimization (linear/nonlinear).

Responsibilities

Design and develop advanced optimization and machine learning solutions for network design and optimization.
Research, prototype, simulate, and experiment with models using Java and Python; participate in production deployment.
Create, enhance, and maintain technical documentation and science designs.
Present to Scientists, Product and Software Engineering teams and Stakeholders.
Lead project plans from a scientific perspective, managing features, risks, milestones and launches.
