Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Data Scientist for the Network Engineering, Scheduling and Technology (NEST) Science team. You will own end-to-end analytical lifecycles, build production-grade data tools, and develop simulations and optimization models for transportation networks.

You will work with Applied Scientists, Engineers, and PMs to deliver scalable analytics and compelling data storytelling to leadership and business customers.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of data scientist experience.
• 3+ years of experience with data querying languages (SQL) and scripting languages (Python) or statistical software (R, SAS, Matlab).
• 3+ years of machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques.
• Experience with big data processing, filtering, and presenting large datasets.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end analytical lifecycle from problem framing to results narration.
• Design and build production-grade analytical tools and interactive data products for self-service exploration of large datasets.
• Develop and enhance simulation and optimization models for network planning and transportation operations.
• Architect scalable data pipelines to support real-time or near-real-time visualization at scale.
• Develop data storytelling artifacts to communicate network dynamics to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Applied Scientists, Research Scientists, Software Engineers, and Product Managers to integrate tools into planning systems.
