Job summary

Amazon Science in Seattle seeks a highly experienced science leader to apply state-of-the-art NLP and computer vision research to video-centric digital media. You will create and maintain the environment to recruit, retain and develop top talent, and set the research directions for forward-looking roadmaps communicated to senior leadership.

You will hire and develop applied scientists, grow the team to meet evolving customer needs, and collaborate with Prime Video teams to deliver impactful,

Qualifications

• 3+ years of building models for business application experience.
• PhD, or Masters degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Experience developing and implementing deep learning algorithms, particularly with respect to computer vision algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Apply state of the art natural language processing and computer vision research to video centric digital media, while also responsible for creating and maintaining the best environment for applied science in order to recruit, retain and develop top talent.
• Lead the research direction for a team of deeply talented applied scientists, creating roadmaps for forward-looking research and communicating them effectively to senior leadership.
• Hire and develop applied scientists - growing the team to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
