Join us in the evolution of Amazon’s Seller business! The Selling Partner Growth organization drives the growth and development of our Store. Collaborating with business, product, and engineering teams, we utilize comprehensive data, insights, and recommendations to foster SP growth and adoption. We believe motivated SPs should be supported by Amazon's tools and resources to reach their full potential.

We are seeking an Applied Scientist II to identify data-driven insights and opportunities to enhance our SP growth strategy and support new seller success. As part of our talented team, you will solve complex problems, collaborate with engineering, research, and business teams for innovation, and connect business needs with scientific solutions. You should have strong ML modeling skills, a scientific foundation, and the ability to work with engineering teams to deploy models in production. Additionally, you will communicate insights effectively and contribute to the research community through publications and collaborations.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to improve SP growth and translate them into scientific problems using ML, causal inference, RL, etc.
• Mentor and guide the team in maintaining high standards of technical rigor and excellence in MLOps.
• Design and lead complex science projects to enhance the selling experience and create long-term value.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to meet system constraints and deploy models effectively.
• Explore high-risk, high-reward research directions and drive them to completion.
• Communicate scientific innovations internally and externally to the scientific community.

Basic Qualifications

• PhD or Master's degree with 4+ years of experience in CS, CE, ML, or related fields
• Programming experience in Java, C++, Python, or similar languages
• Experience in algorithms, data structures, parsing, optimization, data mining, or high-performance computing

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Unix/Linux
• Professional software development experience
