Job summary

Amazon's Worldwide Grocery Stores Data & Science team seeks an Applied Scientist to build forecasting models that drive labor planning across the Amazon Grocery Network. You will deploy time-series, Bayesian, and machine-learning methods, collaborating with engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders to inform staffing decisions.

You will contribute to the development and deployment of forecasting models using Generative AI enhancements and modern data platforms, with emphasis on

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in a quantitative field.
• Experience building machine learning models for business applications.
• Proficiency in Python with ML libraries.
• Experience with SQL and large-scale data processing on modern data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, and deploy components of demand and labor forecasting models.
• Translate business problems into scientific solutions with clear objectives and success metrics.
• Analyze forecast performance and impact on labor planning and capacity decisions.
• Prototype Generative AI approaches and productionize successful methods.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business partners to build scalable forecasting systems.
• Monitor deployed models and continuously improve accuracy and calibration.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly in documents, designs, and reviews.
