Amazon Ads SPB is seeking an Applied Scientist to advance GenAI and Large Language Models across ad retrieval, personalized shopping experiences, and backend/frontend optimization. You will shape how ads are retrieved, allocated, and experienced, combining Amazon data with external knowledge to drive impactful customer journeys.

You will collaborate with fellow scientists, engineers, and product managers, foster innovation, and contribute to a rigorous scientific culture while mentoring junior

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s in CS/CE/ML or related field with 4+ years of domain experience.
• 3+ years building models for business applications.
• Proficient in Java, C++, Python.
• Strong foundation in GenAI, LLMs, ML/DL, probabilistic modeling, and optimization.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop GenAI, deep learning, multi-objective optimization and/or RL-powered solutions to transform ad retrieval, auctions, and relevance.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and PMs to deliver scalable, production-ready science solutions.
• Stay updated on GenAI and LLM trends; bring innovative concepts and prototypes to the team.
• Enhance scientific rigor by adopting best-in-class algorithms and infrastructure for rapid experimentation.
• Mentor junior scientists and engineers to build a high-performing team.
