Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC seeks an Applied Scientist to invent and build optimization models for inventory planning across the worldwide fulfillment network. You will own replenishment, placement, and transportation-planning algorithms and deploy science-driven solutions at scale.

With a PhD in a quantitative field, you will collaborate with product managers and engineers to translate business challenges into well-scoped science initiatives and deliver measurable impact for millions of customers

Qualifications

2+ years of building models for business applications.
Experience with patents or publications at top-tier conferences or journals.
Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
Demonstrated ability to build complex optimization models from scratch and take them to production.

Responsibilities

Own the development of replenishment, placement, and transportation-planning algorithms for inventory flow across the Amazon network.
Design and implement large-scale optimization models and algorithms for inventory planning and related prediction/estimation layers.
Partner with Product Managers and engineers to translate business challenges into science initiatives and deliver solutions.
Build and deploy science solutions into production pipelines with reliable operation at scale.
