Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Eng, or Materials Science from ABET-accredited university (Associate degree also considered).
• 5–10 years engineering experience (MS may reduce).
• Professional Engineer License required (or ability to obtain within 2 years).
• Experience designing, procuring, building, and using custom test set-ups for material testing.
• Familiar with testing equipment (Instron, MTS, Forney).
• Strong skills in SolidWorks, MATLAB, LabVIEW; excellent communication/writing.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering testing and analysis for building, bridge, piping projects across materials.
• Develop scope of services and prepare proposals.
• Serve as Project Manager, lead project team and primary client contact.
• Oversee laboratory testing and failure analysis of construction materials.
• Analyze data to establish cause-and-effect relationships.
• Design/construct fixtures for testing and coordinate field testing.
• Document conditions with surveys and site observations.
• Engage in industry groups, present papers, and grow technical recognition.
• Develop funded research projects related to core business.
