Job summary

Weyerhaeuser is seeking an Applied R&D Engineer to develop innovative wood product solutions for North American buildings. You will work at the intersection of engineering, product development, manufacturing, and building science to turn ideas into commercially viable products.

Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and market analysts to solve building challenges, perform research, structural analysis, code evaluation, and laboratory testing, delivering practical solutions that create value

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required or actively pursuing licensure.
Five or more years of engineering experience with a focus on building materials/wood products.

Responsibilities

Promote safety and contribute to a strong safety-first culture.
Develop and evaluate innovative building and product solutions using structural analysis and testing.
Apply building codes and design standards (IBC, IRC, NDS, ASCE) to support new products.
Plan, conduct, and oversee structural testing programs and report results.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance products from concept to commercialization.
