Utah Tech University in St. George invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor or Instructor of the Practice of Physics to begin Spring Semester (January 2027).

The role focuses on immersive student experiences through undergraduate physics education and collaborative scholarship. Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Physics required for Assistant Professor; MS in Physics required for Instructor of the Practice.
• Candidates with a B.S. in Physics or related field and relevant industry experience will be considered.
• Proven teaching experience with laboratory components preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach 24 credits (Assistant Professor) or 30 credits (Instructor of the Practice) of lecture and/or laboratory courses annually.
• Perform campus-wide duties including advising students, holding office hours, and contributing to service and scholarship per policy.
• Attend department and college meetings; collaborate with faculty on program management and university procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
