Job summary

Amentum Advanced Solutions in the US seeks a mid-level Mechanical Engineer to work on challenging design efforts for hypersonic wind tunnels, rocket test stands, and scientific facilities. The role may leadApplied Multiphysics tasks on small projects and collaborate with other engineers and designers.

Requirements include a B.S.M.E., 7+ years in machine design, and strong knowledge of kinematics, dynamics, stress/strain, and FEA. Preference for 3D CAD (Inventor or SolidWorks).

Qualifications

• B.S.M.E. from an accredited engineering school.
• Minimum of seven (7) years’ relevant machine design experience.
• Experience with design of ground test facilities involving extreme conditions.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs project assignments guided by codes and precedents.
• Analyzes results and prepares technical reports, calculations, and presentations.
• Coordinates work of designers or junior engineers and supports interface with other disciplines.
• Produces complete design packages with drawings, calculations, and specifications.
