Job summary

Ramp is seeking an Applied Science intern to join the team and own ML projects from data exploration to deployment. You’ll work with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable ML solutions.

You will focus on credit, fraud, growth, or the core product, applying modern ML techniques and evaluating results with rigorous experimentation. NYC office with housing stipend offered.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in a quantitative field with expected graduation between Dec 2027–2029.
• Strong fundamentals in ML, statistics, probability, and optimization.
• Interest or experience with AI and LLMs.
• Proficiency in Python and DS libraries (pandas, sklearn, NumPy, PyTorch).
• Experience wrangling data in modern warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, ClickHouse).
• Track record of curating datasets and building ML models.
• Strong communication and ability to tell data-driven stories.
• Bias for action: ship solutions quickly and iterate.

Responsibilities

• Own the model lifecycle from data exploration to training, deployment, and monitoring.
• Leverage state-of-the-art LLMs to build new product capabilities.
• Apply varied techniques (deep learning, gradient boosting, causal inference) to problems.
• Quantify impact via A/B tests and statistical methods.
• Collaborate with product and business leaders to translate models into features.
