Blue Origin is seeking a Software Engineer III - Applied AI to join our Enterprise Technology team in Seattle, WA. You will own the architecture and delivery of agentic AI-powered search and discovery platforms, enabling knowledge graphs and fast data retrieval for Blue Origin teams.

You will mentor junior engineers, drive decisions on retrieval quality, LLM evaluation, frontend depth, and observability, while collaborating with product and mission stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, software engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering with production systems ownership.
• Fluent with LLMs and AI-first features; experience with LLM/RAG pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-stack development of search and RAG AI applications.
• Own retrieval quality evaluation and end-to-end RAG.
• Build LLM evaluation frameworks and regression suites.
• Architect production-grade React frontends.
• Establish AI observability standards and dashboards.
• Operate AWS-based infrastructure with Terraform/CDK.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with product teams.
• Contribute to engineering standards and ADRs.
