Job summary

Meta is seeking a Security Engineering Manager to lead a team of domain experts within the Applied AI organization. The role blends people management with technical contribution to deliver high-impact security, privacy, and trust solutions that improve AI systems.

You will mentor engineers across security and privacy, shape growth plans, and align workstreams with priority model improvement efforts while staying credible through current technical judgment.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in CS, cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in security, privacy, integrity, trust and safety, or related technical field with hands-on management.
• 4+ years of experience in people management and organizational leadership.
• Proficiency in coding with Python, Go, C/C++, or shell scripting.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to redesign workflows and drive measurable impact.
• Ability to lead teams through complex, ambiguous problems with an evolving roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Support, develop, and grow a team of engineers across security, privacy, integrity, and trust and safety, with accountability for team health, engagement, and retention.
• Own people development end to end: 1:1s, growth planning, performance management.
• Manage quantity and quality of expert technical output and prioritize against capability gaps in model performance.
• Connect team strengths to high-impact workstreams and projects.
• Provide technical direction within the domain and help debug issues with team leads.
• Maintain direct technical contribution to keep domain judgment current.
• Initiate or advise incubated research projects and internal advisory engagements.
• Collaborate with partner engineering managers, technical leads, and model researchers for successful workstreams.
• Grow individual contributors toward the next level through coaching and growth opportunities.
• Contribute to recruiting, organizational health, internal forums, and company-wide programs.
