Job summary

Meta is seeking a Security Engineer in the Applied AI (AAI) organization to tackle complex security challenges at scale. You will design and prototype AI-powered defenses, conduct adversary research, and translate security expertise into scalable AI-native security capabilities.

You will blend hands-on security engineering with applied research, collaborating with model researchers and cross-functional teams to advance AI security and protect Meta's systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on security engineering experience across detection engineering, threat intelligence, incident response, cloud security, adversarial simulation, or digital forensics.
• Deep knowledge of attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures.
• Proficiency in coding with Python, Go, C/C++, or shell scripting.
• Experience building security systems, tools, or capabilities, not just identifying problems.
• Ability to operate independently on complex security challenges.

Responsibilities

• Apply deep security domain expertise to identify and solve complex security problems requiring multi-step reasoning and expert judgment.
• Build security products, tools, and capabilities including prototyping AI-driven security solutions.
• Design and execute adversarial research, threat intelligence analysis, or detection engineering augmented by AI tools.
• Identify where AI models lack security reasoning and contribute signals, evaluation, and feedback.
• Develop reusable methodologies advancing Meta's security posture and AI system performance.
• Collaborate with model researchers to translate security expertise into training signals for models.
• Partner with engineering, product, and research teams to integrate security innovations into production AI systems.
• Drive end-to-end execution of complex security initiatives with independence.
• Disseminate findings through internal publications and knowledge sharing.
