Job summary

Lumen is seeking a highly technical and execution‑oriented Applied AI Scientist to design, develop, deploy, and optimize AI-powered solutions across enterprise use cases. You will partner with business, product, engineering, and technology teams to identify opportunities, prototype rapidly, and deliver production‑ready AI capabilities that improve customer experiences and operational performance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in applied AI or related field.
• Experience deploying production AI/ML solutions.
• Expertise in ML, statistics, predictive modeling, experimentation.
• Experience with LLMs, RAG, vector databases, modern AI frameworks.
• Proficiency in Python and AI/ML toolsets.
• Experience with cloud platforms and production environments.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience in agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML solutions from PoC to production.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify use cases, objectives, and impact.
• Build solutions using ML, generative AI, RAG, NLP, analytics, and agentic workflows.
• Develop evaluation frameworks for quality, accuracy, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate with Engineering to operationalize AI with MLOps and LLMOps.
• Contribute reusable code, tools, models, and frameworks across the enterprise.
• Stay current on AI tech and propose innovative approaches.
• Share knowledge and best practices within the team.
