Job summary

Lumen is seeking a highly technical Applied AI Scientist to design, develop, deploy, and optimize AI-powered solutions. You will partner with business, product, engineering, and technology teams to identify opportunities, rapidly prototype solutions, and deliver production-ready AI capabilities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of applied AI, machine learning, data science, or related field.
• Experience deploying production AI/ML solutions.
• Strong knowledge of ML, statistics, experimentation, and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML solutions from concept to production.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify use cases and measure impact.
• Build solutions using ML, generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation, NLP, and analytics.
• Develop evaluation frameworks for quality, accuracy, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate with Engineering to operationalize AI using MLOps and LLMOps best practices.
• Contribute reusable code, tools, models, and frameworks to accelerate AI adoption.
• Stay current on emerging AI technologies and recommend innovative approaches.
• Share knowledge and best practices across the team.
