Capital One's Cambridge, MA team seeks an experienced Applied Researcher to advance AI foundations, train large models, and translate research into practical banking solutions. You will partner with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered customer experiences at scale, publish internal reports or conference findings, and help shape our evolving AI strategy.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS in Electrical Engineering, CS, AI, or related fields with start date by start date or MS + 2 years applied research.
• Experience building large deep learning models (language, vision, graphs) and related optimization/robustness tasks.
• Ability to own a research agenda and carry out long-running projects with impact.
• Experience delivering libraries or platform-level code for products.

Responsabilités

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Leverage PyTorch, AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, Lightning to analyze large data sets.
• Build AI foundation models from design through training, evaluation, validation, and implementation.
• Translate complex research into tangible business goals and customer impact.
• Collaborate with senior researchers to prepare internal tech reports or conference submissions.
