Job summary

Cook Medical’s LoopTech internship offers hands-on experience in turning AI concepts into shipped demos. You will write real code from week one, contributing to full-stack features and responsible AI practices within a small, autonomous team.

The 12-week onsite internship in Bloomington, Spencer, or Ellettsville, Indiana, includes a mentor, capstone presentation, intern events, and access to facilities; housing stipend may be provided for onsite work.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript with git fluency.
• Familiarity with web application fundamentals: APIs, databases, and modern frontend frameworks.
• Interest in large language models and applied AI; experience with AI coding assistants is a plus.
• Motivated self-starter with ability to work autonomously and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship full-stack features on active LoopTech products using Python (FastAPI) and TS/React.
• Use agentic development tools and prompt engineering to accelerate development.
• Assist in data collection, preprocessing, and evaluation for model training and analytics.
• Document approaches and present work at team demos and capstone presentation.
• Collaborate with engineers and researchers and participate in pilot projects.
