Job summary

Cook Medical’s LoopTech internship invites students to design and ship full-stack features for AI-powered products, using Python and TypeScript with modern tooling. You will contribute to data science tasks, model evaluation, and responsible AI practices in a collaborative setting with engineers and researchers.

This 12-week paid internship is located in Bloomington, Spencer, or Ellettsville, Indiana, with a capstone presentation and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Proficient programming in Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript with git fluency.
• Familiarity with web APIs, databases, and modern frontend frameworks.
• Interest in large language models and applied AI; experience with AI coding assistants is a plus.
• GPA 3.0+ preferred; enrollment proof required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship full-stack features on LoopTech products with Python backends and TS/React frontends.
• Use AI coding assistants and prompt engineering to accelerate development.
• Collect, prepare, and curate data for model training and evaluation.
• Document work clearly and present demos at team meetings and capstone.
