Cook Medical LLC. invites applications for an Intern, Applied AI & Full Stack Development in Bloomington, IN. Join LoopTech, Cook Medical’s applied AI team, to prototype AI applications and ship demos using Python (FastAPI) and TypeScript/React.

You will work onsite in Bloomington/Spencer/Ellettsville, receive a mentor, capstone presentation, and housing stipend where applicable. The 12-week internship runs mid-May through mid-August, with the opportunity to contribute to real projects in

Qualifications

• Pursuing junior or senior year in CS, DS, informatics, or related field.
• Enrolled students must provide proof of enrollment.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
• Strong programming in Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience with APIs, databases, and web frontends is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship full-stack features on LoopTech products with Python/TypeScript.
• Use agentic development tools and prompt engineering to accelerate development.
• Conduct data collection, preparation, and curation for model training.
• Assist in evaluation harnesses for AI models and report results.
• Lead rapid prototyping and present demos and capstone work.
• Document approach and share work within the organization.
• Participate in team discussions and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with mentor and apply in medical device context.
