Job description

Overview

Cook Medical's Global IT team is looking for interns who want to put AI to work on real problems. You'll join a group that is actively building the automation, platforms, and data capabilities behind a global medical device company, and your work will ship into processes that clinicians and patients ultimately depend on. This is hands-on technical work with AI, not a shadowing assignment.

This position is a 12-week paid internship located in Bloomington, Spencer, or Ellettsville Indiana. It is offered for a period extending from mid-May through mid-August (exact dates depend on school calendars.) This position includes 401(k) options, an assigned mentor, capstone presentation, and intern events. If working onsite, you will also have access to a fitness center, an onsite cafeteria option, and a one-time housing stipend. All internships provide hands-on experience with meaningful projects in the Medical Device Manufacturing Industry.

Responsibilities
  • The primary objective of the AI Engineer Intern in IT is to gain practical experience, contribute to AI projects, learn and apply AI skills, support research and innovation, enhance AI knowledge, collaborate effecively, contribute to responsible AI practices, build a professional network, create documentation and work toward personal development.
  • Automate critical processes. Design and build AI-driven automation that removes manual work from the business processes Cook runs on, and see your solutions move into production.
  • Make IT itself smarter. Prototype and apply AI across IT capabilities, from service delivery to software development, to raise the level of service we provide the enterprise.
  • Turn data into decisions. Pair AI with Cook's data estate to deliver insights and advanced analytics that IT and business partners use in the decisions they make every day.
