Job summary

Capital One is seeking researchers to build AI foundation models and deliver AI-powered banking experiences. You will partner with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to train, evaluate, and deploy large models using PyTorch, HuggingFace, and cloud infrastructure.

You will translate complex research into measurable business outcomes, drive end-to-end development from design through deployment, and mentor teams while advancing the state of the art in responsible AI.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS with substantial applied research experience by start date.
• Experience building large deep learning models (language, vision, graphs).
• Strong foundations in AI methodologies and training optimization.

Responsibilities

• Partner with data scientists, software engineers, ML engineers and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
• Leverage PyTorch, AWS Ultraclusters, HuggingFace, Lightning, VectorDBs to analyze large data sets.
• Build AI foundation models from design to training, evaluation, validation, and deployment.
• Engage in applied research to push AI developments into customer experiences.
• Translate complex work into tangible business goals.
