Job summary

Capital One is building world-class AI foundations to reimagine banking experiences. As an Applied Researcher 4 in New York, you will work with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered customer experiences.

You will develop foundation models, train and evaluate them, and translate research insights into measurable business outcomes. You will leverage PyTorch, AWS Ultraclusters, HuggingFace, and Lightning to handle massive data and advance production-ready

Qualifications

PhD or MS with 2 years of applied research experience in AI/ML.
Strong foundation in machine learning, deep learning, and AI research.
Experience with open-source libraries and cloud platforms is preferred.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, ML engineers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products for customers' money management.
Leverage PyTorch, AWS Ultraclusters, HuggingFace, Lightning, and related tools to analyze large numeric and textual data.
Develop AI foundation models across design, training, evaluation, and deployment phases.
Translate complex research into tangible business goals for stakeholders.
Prepare internal tech reports or conference submissions with senior researchers.
Communicate progress and results effectively to non-technical audiences.
