Job summary

HackBook is seeking a senior ML/AI engineer to build and ship language-model-powered systems for national security missions. You’ll own end-to-end workflow from dataset curation to deploying inference and retrieval systems in production.

You will collaborate with engineering to turn operational needs into high-performing features across cloud and on-prem environments, focusing on speed, accuracy, and security.

Qualifications

• Experience building ML/AI-enabled apps.
• Strong Python and deep learning experience.
• Hands-on LLM post-training methods (e.g., SFT, RLHF, PPO).
• Dataset curation and preprocessing for training/evaluation.
• Knowledge of relational, graph, and vector databases.
• Designing/evaluating LLMs/agents using frameworks like LangChain/CrewAI.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain high-quality training/evaluation datasets.
• Fine-tune language models for mission needs.
• Implement post-training and alignment methods.
• Build retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems.
• Develop model serving infrastructure for production deployments.
• Design evaluation frameworks for quality and latency.
• Integrate AI capabilities into applications and workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners.
• Produce technical documentation for models/datasets.
