Job summary

Blossom Health is hiring an AI-focused software engineer in New York City to build and ship AI-native product experiences used by clinicians and patients. You will design end-to-end LLM-powered systems that automate healthcare workflows and own features from prototyping through production, with a focus on reliability and measurable impact.

You will collaborate with clinicians and engineers, move quickly across models and tooling, and thrive in a high-autonomy, ambiguity-tolerant startup

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience building and shipping LLM-powered applications in production.
• Proficient in Python and/or TypeScript.
• Experience with modern LLM APIs, agentic systems, tool calling, retrieval, or structured outputs.
• Strong focus on evals, latency, reliability, and cost.
• Ability to move across the stack and experiment with new models.
• Autonomy, ambiguity tolerance, and ownership.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. and willing to be in-person in NYC 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship AI-native product experiences used by clinicians and patients.
• Design and develop LLM-powered systems and agents for healthcare workflows.
• Own AI features end-to-end from prototyping to production.
• Build monitoring and feedback systems to improve AI quality.
• Collaborate with clinicians and engineers to map healthcare workflows to AI solutions.
• Iterate quickly from AI capabilities to production-ready experiences.
• Work across models, prompts, tools, and retrieval systems.
