Job summary

Referment is partnering with a global investment and technology firm to hire an applied AI engineer who will design and deploy bespoke AI agents and applications for real business workflows. You will lead greenfield projects from discovery through production deployment and build developer tooling to streamline software development.

You will evaluate new model capabilities and integrate useful advances into production systems, creating reusable frameworks and shared AI infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and extensive software engineering background.
• Hands-on experience building and scaling AI products, systems or platforms.
• Knowledge of production agentic systems, including orchestration, tool use, memory and multi-step reasoning.
• Experience with rapid prototyping, evaluation, and ownership from inception to deployment.
• Strong analytical and creative abilities with proven achievements in technical or entrepreneurial settings.

You will work directly with internal teams and end users to turn nuanced operating needs into production AI agents, developer tools and user-facing applications.

The role spans rapid experimentation and durable engineering. You will own projects from concept through deployment while also building shared frameworks, retrieval systems and reusable components that allow other teams to adopt AI safely and effectively.
