Job summary

SENKO Advanced Components, Inc. is seeking an Applications Engineering Manager to lead the Applications Engineering function and bridge customers with Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Sales.

You will drive customer success through technical leadership, training, and new product introductions in fiber optic connectivity across data centers and telecom markets. You will manage a team of application engineers, develop strategic direction, and ensure successful product

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering required.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in fiber optic connectivity, passive optical components, telecommunications, data communications, or related technical fields.
• Minimum 3 years of leadership or project leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of fiber optics, connector technologies, cable assemblies, testing and measurement systems, and manufacturing/validation processes.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 40%.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Applications Engineering team with priorities, standards, training, and performance objectives.
• Serve as technical authority on fiber optic connectivity, guiding customers, distributors, and internal teams.
• Act as escalation point for complex customer issues and drive timely resolution with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing.
• Build relationships with customers and stakeholders, identify market trends and opportunities for product improvements.
• Lead technical customer engagements, workshops, demonstrations, audits, and training events.
• Translate customer requirements into actionable product and engineering recommendations.
• Lead NPD/NPI efforts with Product Management, R&D, and Manufacturing to meet customer needs.
• Oversee testing, validation, benchmarking, and lab capability improvements.
• Develop technical documentation like notes, guides, specifications, and validation reports.
