Job description

Research, collect, compile, synthesize, and analyze information and operational data
Identify opportunities, develop solutions, and lead issues through resolution
Collaborate on performance improvement activities related to program efficiency and patient experience
Distribute analytical reports and create graphical data presentations showing trends, ROI, impacts, and recommendations
Design, configure, integrate, and support application solutions across multiple systems, platforms, modules, and workflows
Translate business requirements into functional and technical solutions aligned with product backlogs and organizational priorities
Perform system configuration, builds, interfaces, and data exchange between applications
Troubleshoot and resolve application and integration issues with technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders
Develop and execute test scenarios, test scripts, validation, and—at the senior level—test strategy and coordination
Participate in or lead implementations, upgrades, onboarding, process transformation, environment readiness, validation, and post-deployment support
Analyze application workflows, system performance, usage, and operational metrics to improve and optimize processes
Collaborate with product teams, clinicians, business leaders, technical teams, and other stakeholders
Create and promote functional specifications, knowledge base articles, standard operating procedures, documentation, standards, and best practices
Senior role: provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to other engineers

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Applications Engineer: 5–7 years of experience in application support, application analysis, or related IT roles
Senior Applications Engineer: 7+ years of experience in application engineering, application support, or related IT roles
Experience with application configuration, system workflows, business processes, troubleshooting, system integrations, interfaces, data flow, testing, implementations, upgrades, and enhancements
Ability to translate business requirements into functional and technical solutions
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work across multiple applications, systems, and functional areas
Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical teams, business stakeholders, and vendors
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment
Senior role: experience leading or coordinating testing, implementations, or upgrades; IT service management knowledge; ability to independently design and implement solutions; informal leadership and mentoring experience
Nice-to-have: PowerShell, Python, Bash, APIs, interfaces, middleware, Power Automate, UiPath, JavaScript, web technologies, SQL, cloud/SaaS, Agile, product-oriented delivery, DevOps, version control, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and performance analysis
Ability to comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, guidelines, and Code of Conduct
Ability to use computers and other technology
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted, where applicable
Ability to work indoors under temperature-controlled and well-lit conditions, subject to travel requirements
Ability to maintain a safe working environment and use PPE
