Jobtailor in Houston seeks a Senior Applications Consultant to design technical architectures and frameworks for major applications, aligning with business needs and industry trends. You will guide configuration, provide escalation support, and mentor junior staff.

Collaborating with clients and vendors, you will translate requirements into production-ready environments, review solutions, and ensure seamless integration across platforms while staying current with new technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical training relevant to the supported applications.

• Ability to assess client and contractual requirements and translate them into a project-ready environment.
• Full proficiency with all aspects of application configuration and ongoing project support.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical architecture, frameworks and strategies for a major application area to meet business and application requirements.
• Analyse and evaluate alternative technology solutions to address business problems.
• Provide technical guidance on set-up requirements, configuration and customization of technical applications.
• Act as the highest point of in-house escalation for complex user-issue diagnosis and resolution.
• Escalate unresolved issues to and work with vendor technical resources.
• Identify the policies and requirements that drive particular solutions.
• Ensure the integration of all aspects of technology solutions.
• Monitor industry trends to align solutions with the company’s direction.
• Review technical applications software and hardware systems, data requirements, and communication needs.
• Check and review application documentation, including procedures, process flows and instructions to support technical queries and workflow changes.
• Provide training, coaching and guidance to less experienced technical applications support staff.
• Continuously identify, pursue and implement improvements to how applications are configured and used.
• Act as a specialist subject-matter expert for a technical application.
• Specify data requirements in a data-centric environment.
• Define and configure work-share environments.
• Represent the company at external conferences and user forums, staying abreast of development in applications.

Requirements

• Minimum ISCED Level 6 (Bachelors) or equivalent technical training in subject relevant to the application(s) supported e.g. drafting or engineering technology.
• Certified training or equivalent experience in one or more technical applications.
• Several years' experience working in a project execution environment.
• Able to assess client and contractual requirements and translate these into a project-ready environment.
• Fully conversant with all aspects of application configuration and ongoing project support.
