Job summary

Allient Inc. is seeking an Applications Engineer to join our team at the Corporate Headquarters in Buffalo, New York. The Applications Engineer will engage with customers on defined applications and determine requirements for products such as motors, drives, and gearboxes, acting as the liaison between Allient Inc.

and distributors and reps. The role includes supporting engineering specifications, providing technical assistance, and overseeing installation and field operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).
• 3-8 years of work and/or intern/co-op experience with technical, manufactured products and systems.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the value of Allient Inc. products to customers and drives sales in the geographic territory.
• Issues customer quotes and tracks orders, often serving as the day-to-day contact.
• Develops sales volume, pricing and margin forecasts and adjusts to market changes.
• Provides engineering specifications and expedites material requisitions and production work orders.
• Offers technical assistance to interpret, analyze and resolve procurement and field operating issues.
• Oversees product installation and trial operations and resolves field problems.
• Prepares reports and keeps archives and literature related to products; stays informed about new engineering developments.
• Trains in-house to gain thorough product knowledge and specifications.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
