Job summary

Haydon Kerk Pittman, an AMETEK business, seeks an Applications Engineer – Custom Motion Solutions to serve as the primary technical interface for assigned customers and sales territories.

This role supports customers from initial review through qualification, custom engineering handoff, prototype evaluation, and transition toward production, partnering with Sales, Product Management, Custom Engineering, Operations, and customers to ensure feasible, defined opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 3–5+ years in applications engineering or motion-control roles.
• Ability to translate customer needs into technical requirements.
• Experience supporting sales and cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel domestically as required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned customers and territories.
• Collaborate with Sales to translate requirements into feasible technical solutions.
• Guide customers toward standard products or light customization.
• Coordinate handoffs to Engineering during the design and production transition.
• Support prototype evaluation, quotations, and production readiness.
