Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Applications Engineer to provide hands-on engineering support to customers and collaborate with internal teams to improve processes and drive cost savings. The role involves design assistance, technical support, and process standardization across engineering, quality, production, sourcing, and sales.

The position offers a visible impact in a growing operation, with on-site work in Dayton, OH, and periodic travel to support customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Systems Engineering preferred).
• 2+ years of engineering experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, prints, and technical docs.
• Familiarity with GD&T preferred.
• Proficiency with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support to customers, including cost-savings initiatives and design assistance.
• Collaborate with sales and branch teams to deliver technical support and prepare quotations.
• Identify new product and part opportunities with customer engineering and product teams.
• Support production through materials, sourcing, and supplier interactions; manage spec changes.
