Job summary

Symrise is seeking an Application Chemist to work under managerial supervision on US-focused projects. You will develop formulations utilizing CI ingredients, collaborate with regional CI labs, and support marketing initiatives.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Chemistry, 1–3 years in cosmetics applications, and experience with emulsifiers, UV filters, and active ingredients. A discretionary annual bonus may be available depending on performance.

Your role

Application Chemist is expected to work with Managerial supervision on Manager defined projects. This individual will be responsible for: development of US focused formulations showcasing CI ingredients, working on customer projects, interacting with counterparts in Regional CI Application labs and supporting Marketing initiatives.

• A. Work on projects defined by the Manager 50%
• B. Develop formulations to support Marketing initiatives 20%
• C. Prepare or develop formulations for new CI product launches 10%
• D. Works on preparing training materials for the CI Sales team 10%
• E. Responsible for ordering necessary raw materials, consumables, packaging etc. that are required for the projects 10%

About you

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related science.
• Minimum 1-3 yrs. experience in the cosmetic industry (i.e. finished goods company or client) in the applications technology area.
• Experience with emulsifiers, UV filters, active chemical ingredients required. Color cosmetics a plus.

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The expected annual salary range for this position is USD 66000.00 – USD 87000.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance.
