Job summary

Boston Partners in Boston, MA is seeking an Applications Analyst to design, develop, and maintain critical business applications. The role collaborates with Investment teams, Trading, and other units to enhance performance, automate workflows, and reduce errors.

The position reports to the CTO within Information Technology, and requires a strong background in software development, SQL, and back-end technologies. Occasional after-hours work may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Five+ years of software development with strong analysis, design, and modeling skills. Financial services industry preferred.
• Proficiency in SQL programming with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Proficiency in C# and/or Java for back-end development.
• Experience with version control systems (Git, TFVC).
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with one or more of the following will be considered a plus: Charles River IMS, Markit EDM Platform, Data Warehouse Platforms, Angular/React, GPT.

Qualifications And Technical Skills

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Five plus years of software development experience with strong analysis, design, and modeling skills. Financial services industry preferred.
• Proficiency in SQL programming along with database modeling and design, primarily using Microsoft SQL Server.
• Proficiency in using C# and/or Java for back-end development.
• Experience with version control systems (Git, TFVC).
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with one or more of the following will be considered a plus:
  • Charles River Investment Management System
  • Markit EDM Platform
  • Data Warehouse Platforms
  • Front-end web frameworks like Angular/React
  • Large Language Models like GPT

Special Requirements

• Job may require working beyond regular business hours on an as needed basis.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $135,000-$180,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered. In addition to the base salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
