Job summary

DTCC is seeking a Software Development Test Engineer to design and implement automated tests and CI/CD pipelines. You will contribute to automated testing across Java and Python components, perform API testing with Rest Assured/ Karate, and work within an agile/squad structure.

You will join the IT CSS Equities Delivery Team and drive quality in all software releases, while staying current with testing methodologies and industry best practices. Hybrid onsite/remote work is offered.

Qualifications

• Proven min experience of 3 years with automated unit and integration testing.
• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automated tests to ensure the quality of software products.

• As a squad member work to identify and resolve defects and improve the overall software testing process.

• Play an active role in translating business and functional requirements into concrete results.

The Impact you will have in this role

Being a member of IT CSS Equities Delivery Team, the Software Development Test Engineer will be responsible for developing test plans and implementing those plans against the corresponding test procedures. He should also be accountable for the development of automation scripts in Selenium java and writing SQL queries.

• Diagnose and remediate software defects.

• Understand and apply industry-specific best methodologies & standards.
• Establish level of expertise in the business areas, systems and platforms being supported.
• Responsible for system integration testing, including automation, of newly developed or enhanced applications.

Qualifications

Talents Needed for Success

• Hands On experience with test automation frameworks and tools, such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, etc. as well as CI/CD technologies (e.g. Cloudbees, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Cucumber, Git, JUnit, Jira etc.).
• Extensive experience with testing modern scripting language-based components.
• Strong experience with automated testing and test-driven development
• Detailed understanding of smoke testing, functional, and non-black box testing, as well as regression testing.
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies and techniques, including unit testing, integration testing, and functional testing
• Expert and hands on with backend test automation using Rest Assured/Karate for API testing. JDBC/JPA for database testing (Oracle/ DB2/ Snowflake).
• Experience in Software Development
• Proficiency in programming language (Java & Python)
• Knowledge of Databases and SQL preferred.
• Experience in writing sophisticated SQL queries.
• Experienced in Agile/Waterfall, onsite/offshore work model and coordination.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
