Job summary

Apex Fintech Solutions is seeking an Application Support Engineer to join our production support team in a hybrid Belfast-based setup. You will serve as the primary escalation point for production issues, collaborating with engineering to resolve complex problems and leveraging AI tooling to reduce repetitive work.

Responsibilities include incident response, performance monitoring, and maintaining runbooks, while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring smooth client communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of application support experience, preferably in financial services or trading.
• 2+ years in a customer-facing role.
• Strong networking, OS (Linux/Windows), and databases (MSSQL/NoSQL).
• Hands-on experience with AI tooling in professional setting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as escalation point for frontline support, owning complex issues end to end.
• Participate in major incident response with impact analysis and recommendations.
• Monitor system performance and availability; mitigate issues before impacting clients.
• Manage production access, change management, and troubleshooting runbooks.
• Use AI tooling to accelerate investigation and build automations for reuse.
• Collaborate with development teams on fixes and mentor junior engineers.
