Job summary

Frey Consulting Group is seeking an Application Specialist - Pumps to engineer, specify, and select rotating equipment for petrochemical and refining industries. You will develop customer proposals based on specifications and operating conditions, and manage projects and orders to meet delivery timelines.

The role requires handling multiple priorities, effective communication with customers, and participation in on-call rotations. Travel may be required, and CAD experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive phone calls and emails from external & internal customers which must be handled on a timely basis.
• Manage multiple project inquiries and project quotations
• Facilitate customer application requirements for their assembly, sizing and product selection
• Understand and ensure that the Total Customer Commitment standards are upheld at all times
• Actively and enthusiastically attend required and preferred training
• Participate in an after-hours and weekend On-Call rotation
• Actively and enthusiastically support colleagues at all times, especially when overload situations arise
• Accurately complete quotes, order entry and purchase orders
• Build and cultivate solid relationships
• Remain alert and aware of surroundings at all times
• Some travel may be required
• This job is demanding in terms of knowledge, skills, commitment, and all other job-related qualifications.
• Regular and predictable attendance is essential for this position.

Job Title: Application Specialist - Pumps

Reports to: Sales Manager

Summary

Responsible for engineering, designing, specifying, and selecting rotating equipment for the petrochemical and refining industries. Develop customer proposals based on specifications, operating conditions, and industry standards. Manage projects and order status to meet delivery requirements while maintaining communication with internal and external customers regarding project progress, changes, and optimization opportunities. Requires the ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively when dealing with unexpected interruptions.

Education and/or Work Experience

• A degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is preferred
• Experience in an industrial environment – preferably an industrial internship
• Experience with 2D or 3D CAD drafting / design software is preferred
• In the absence of a degree, experience in a similar role in the chemical, petrochemical, refining or oil & gas industries may be considered
• A non-degreed candidate with a high mechanical aptitude may be considered
