Job Summary

We are seeking an Applications Specialist of Solid Round and Insert Cutting Tools. The role involves account management, generating new opportunities, understanding customer needs in metalworking, and educating customers, prospects, and distributors about GWS Tool Group's products and capabilities. Effective communication of product details and customer feedback is essential.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None

Duties/Responsibilities
  1. Schedule appointments and meet with existing customers to review applications and identify opportunities.
  2. Plan and conduct sales presentations through daily customer visits.
  3. Liaise between the company and customers regarding pricing, service, and product launches.
  4. Develop prospect accounts to increase revenue, partnering with distribution channels.
  5. Update customers on product modifications and enhancements.
  6. Attend departmental and training meetings to stay updated on new products and procedures.
  7. Maintain professionalism and portray the company positively.
  8. Attend conferences and trade shows.
  9. Use marketing data and sales tools to maximize sales effectiveness.
  10. Organize and participate in joint sales calls with distributors.
  11. Prepare sales and marketing reports and manage expense accounts.
  12. Maintain and update customer account information.
  13. Provide product quotes with support from inside sales.
  14. Ensure follow-up with complete customer profiles and calls-to-action.
Education and Experience
  • 1-3 years of manufacturing experience, focusing on Milling, Turning, Grooving
  • Knowledge of tooling and manufacturing processes
  • Experience assisting customers with processing parts and tool applications
  • Job shop experience is highly regarded
  • Experience in designing special tools and processing customer parts from drawings to finished products
  • Account management and new customer development skills
  • Degree in sales, marketing, or related field is highly regarded
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of business aspects and problem-solving using existing procedures
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged sitting and working on a computer
  • Ability to lift 15 pounds
  • Willingness to travel
