Job summary

Sophion Bioscience Inc. is seeking an Application Scientist based in San Diego, CA. You will tackle electrophysiology challenges, including patch-clamp methods, and collaborate with leading scientists worldwide.

You will demo products, train users, and contribute to publications while supporting new platforms such as Ethica M. The role requires hands-on lab work, strong communication, and willingness to travel up to 60% to customer sites and conferences.

Qualifications

• Solid background in electrophysiology.
• Cell culture experience with cell lines and primary cells; stem cell experience is a plus.
• Experience with patch clamp, manual or automated, is required.
• Fluent English with excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform product demonstrations, installations, training, and presentations at end-user sites.
• Provide technical support for end-users via remote or onsite troubleshooting.
• Support Marketing and Sales in identifying key customer segments and developing strategies to increase reach and revenue.
• Travel as needed to customer meetings, trade shows, conferences, and relevant scientific meetings.
• Be the customer's voice in development work for new applications and assays.
• Assist in the optimization of cell lines for automated patch clamp.
• Provide pre-sales support through demonstrations and customer presentations.
• Write application reports, posters, and publications.
• Support future rollout of Ethica M including customer-facing scientific support, training, and application development activities.
